The Wales Way

The Wales Way

Originally from Southern England, Wales has been home to us since 2005. We made our home in Carmarthenshire, in the shadow of the Black Mountain. A small holding with some chickens, ducks, and over an acre of garden, a mowing nightmare.

We always thought how lucky we were to be living in such a beautiful part of the world, and ofter took short trips to the coast or mountains. Wales is truly beautiful!

It was only after looking at the Scottish North Coast 500 driving route that we began to ask why there wasn’t something similar in Wales. I guess the Welsh Assembly had their spies out and heard our musings, and shortly after started an initiative called the Wales Way.

A collection of 3 driving routes, through the middle – The CambrianWay, along the top – The North Wales Way and down the West coast – The Coastal Way. They seemed to have forgotten the South of Wales completly!

Very little has been done to promote The Wales Way and many Campsites that we have visited over the years have never even heard of it.

Its a shame as we have driven the routes several times in our Motorhome and the scenery is truly stunning.

A couple of years ago we decided to put a small website together about the Wale Way, and even suggested a route along the south coast to make it a full circular route.
